MOTHER TERESA, WALKING WITH HER SAINTS
Edited by Hiroshi Katayanagi, SJ
Mother Teresa was the recipient of many of the world's most prestigious humanitarian awards including the United States Medal of Freedom, the United Nations Albert Schweitzer Prize, and the Nobel Peace Prize. However, her love for Christ was the inspiration to start her work for the poor in 1948, when she was thirty-eight years old. Throughout her ministry, she was guided by the saints and the Imitation of Christ by Tomas a Kempis, which itself had so deeply influenced Ignatius of Loyola, Mary Ward, and St. Therese of Lisieux.
