VIA CRUCIS DVD WITH STATIONS OF THE CROSS BOOKLET
This prayerful presentation of the Via Crucis, The Way of the Cross, follows the winding half mile path through the beautiful forest surrounding Holy Hill, the National Shrine of Mary, Help of Christians.
Each year hundreds of thousands of pilgrims and visitors come to Holy Hill and walk The Via Crucis. This spiritual trail begins at the bottom of Holy Hill and ends at its top near the entrance to the Chapel of St. Thérèse, or the Lower Church.
The fourteen stations were completed over the span of fourteen years by sculptor Joseph Aszklar. Mr. Aszklar (1867-1942) was born in Poland and came to Milwaukee in 1910. His work on creating the stations began in 1914. Each station took one year to complete with the final station completed in 1928.
